The track opened in 1960 as a 1.5-mile oval and has been a cornerstone of NASCAR's national schedule for over six decades. Its proximity to Atlanta — 25 miles south of downtown — and its adjacent airport have made it a destination for motorsport aviation since the field's earliest days.
The 2022 repave transformed the racing product. The track was reconfigured to 1.54 miles with progressive banking steepened to 28 degrees in the turns, up from 24 degrees. The racing surface was narrowed to compress the field, producing superspeedway-style pack racing at an intermediate track. Speeds regularly exceed 180 mph, with cars drafting in packs of 15 to 20 through the turns.
In June 2025, the speedway was renamed from Atlanta Motor Speedway to EchoPark Speedway under a new naming rights agreement. The track configuration, event schedule, and seating remained unchanged. Capacity exceeds 71,000 across grandstands, suites, and infield viewing areas.

On race weekends, Interstate 75 southbound from Atlanta becomes one of the most congested corridors in the Southeast. Guests flying into Hartsfield-Jackson face a 25-mile drive that can stretch well beyond an hour. The same guests departing ATL after the race sit in post-event gridlock while 71,000 other spectators attempt the same route.
HMP eliminates the drive. The airport is directly across the street from EchoPark Speedway. Your aircraft lands, your chauffeur transfers you two minutes to the gate, and you are at the track before most spectators have cleared the parking queue on I-75.
The $2.32 million FBO terminal, opened in 2022, provides covered vehicle staging, a conference room, and a pilot lounge. Runway 06/24 at 5,509 feet handles light to midsize jets. No TSA. No commercial terminal crowds. No baggage claim.

On a typical Cup Series race day, the time saved by flying into HMP instead of ATL ranges from one to two hours in each direction. That is two to four hours recovered across a single race weekend — time spent in the cabin, at the track, or in the air, rather than on the interstate.
The custom Mercedes-Benz Sprinter seats eight in cream leather captain's chairs. For race weekends, the service covers the full itinerary: FBO transfer from HMP, pre-race positioning at the speedway, on-site standby during the event, and return transfer to the aircraft when the checkered flag drops.
For groups with tailgate plans, your chauffeur can position the Sprinter in the infield or premium parking areas and remain on standby throughout. The cabin becomes a private lounge — climate-controlled, equipped with a 32-inch 4K Smart TV for pre-race coverage, Wi-Fi, and chilled refreshments.
Guests staying in Buckhead, Midtown, or Downtown Atlanta can book round-trip transfers without the HMP component. Your chauffeur handles the I-75 drive, delivers you to the gate, waits on-site, and returns you to your hotel after the race — while others sit in post-event traffic.
Your chauffeur monitors your aircraft via tail number and is waiting at the covered FBO staging area before you land. No coordination required on your part.
Step off the aircraft, step into cream leather. Luggage is handled. The Sprinter delivers you to EchoPark Speedway in two minutes while others are still on I-75.
Your chauffeur remains on-site for the duration of the event. The cabin is available as a private lounge — pre-race, mid-race, or whenever you need it.
When the race ends, your chauffeur is positioned at the agreed collection point. You are back at the HMP terminal in minutes, departing before the parking lots have cleared.

EchoPark Speedway hosts two NASCAR Cup Series races in 2026. The Ambetter Health 400 (Spring Race) was completed on February 22, 2026. The Quaker State 400 (Summer Race) is scheduled for July 11–12, 2026. Both weekends include Xfinity Series and Craftsman Truck Series support races.
Atlanta Speedway Airport (HMP) is directly adjacent to EchoPark Speedway — approximately two miles and a two-minute ground transfer. The airport sits across the street from the track, making it the closest possible arrival point for race weekends. By comparison, Hartsfield-Jackson ATL is 25 miles away and 30–45 minutes in normal conditions, often longer on race days.
Atlanta Motor Speedway was renamed EchoPark Speedway in June 2025 as part of a naming rights agreement with EchoPark Automotive. The track itself, its location, configuration, and event schedule remain unchanged. It is the same 1.54-mile quad-oval with 28-degree banking that was repaved in 2022.
The 2022 repave introduced progressive banking — 28 degrees in the turns compared to the previous 24 degrees — and narrowed the racing surface to generate closer, more competitive racing. The changes were modeled after Daytona and Talladega, producing superspeedway-style pack racing on a 1.54-mile intermediate track. Average speeds now regularly exceed 180 mph during races.
Yes. HMP's 5,509-foot Runway 06/24 accommodates light to midsize jets including Learjet, Beechjet, and Falcon 50/900 series. The runway was extended 1,000 feet in 2013 specifically to support jet traffic during Cup Series weekends. Weight capacity is 91,000 pounds single-wheel and 118,000 pounds dual-wheel. The $2.32 million FBO terminal provides covered staging, a conference room, and pilot lounge.
Yes. The custom Mercedes-Benz Sprinter seats eight in cream leather captain’s chairs. For race weekends, your chauffeur handles the full itinerary: FBO transfer from HMP, pre-race positioning, on-site standby during the event, and return transfer to the aircraft afterward. For guests staying in Atlanta proper, round-trip transfers from Buckhead or Downtown are also available. From $175 per transfer, no surge pricing.
Race weekends draw 71,000-plus spectators to the Hampton area. Interstate 75 southbound from Atlanta experiences significant congestion beginning three to four hours before green flag. Parking lots open early, and most attendees arrive hours ahead. By flying into HMP and transferring directly, you bypass I-75 congestion entirely. Your chauffeur manages all logistics, including timing the return transfer to avoid post-race gridlock.
EchoPark Speedway hosts events year-round beyond NASCAR, including Monster Jam, the Georgia State Fair, the Thursday Thunder short-track racing series, driving experiences, and various concerts and festivals. Each event generates ground transportation demand at HMP — and each one benefits from the same two-minute transfer from the terminal.
