Directly adjacent to EchoPark Speedway. A $2.32 million terminal. No TSA. No crowds. Your Sprinter waiting at the covered staging area when you deplane — race weekend or any weekend.

Atlanta Speedway Airport is south metro Atlanta's dedicated general aviation field, set within a 3,550-acre area master plan that ties the airport to one of motorsport's most storied venues. The $2.32 million FBO terminal — 4,600 square feet, opened March 2022 — replaced a 1960s-era facility with a covered vehicle staging area, conference room, and pilot lounge.
The field sits directly across the street from EchoPark Speedway (renamed from Atlanta Motor Speedway in June 2025). Its 5,509-foot Runway 06/24, extended 1,000 feet in 2013, handles light to midsize jets with a weight capacity of 91,000 pounds single-wheel and 118,000 pounds dual-wheel. Ninety-three aircraft are based here, including 12 jets and 20 helicopters.
SPLOST VI funding has allocated $5 million in additional upgrades, including MALSR approach lighting to improve instrument approach capability. The airport generates a $16.8 million annual economic impact for Henry County — a figure that grows substantially during race weekends.

Few airports in the Southeast carry as long a lineage as this one. The field has operated under six names across its history: Bear Creek Airport, Morris Field, Tara Field, Atlanta South Regional Airport, Henry County Airport (FAA identifier 4A7), and its current designation, Atlanta Speedway Airport (FAA: HMP, ICAO: KHMP).
Each chapter reflects the evolution of south metro Atlanta — from a rural grass strip to a modern general aviation facility serving corporate, training, and motorsport traffic. The 2022 terminal and ongoing SPLOST VI improvements mark the latest investment in a field that has served private aviation here for decades.
Three flight schools call HMP home: Speedway Flight Training, Brock Aviation, and Tier-1 Helicopters. Combined with 93 based aircraft and the proximity to EchoPark Speedway, the field supports a diverse range of general aviation operations year-round.
EchoPark Speedway (formerly Atlanta Motor Speedway, renamed June 2025) hosts two NASCAR Cup Series weekends per year, drawing private aviation guests from across the country. The 2026 NASCAR Spring Race completed February 22. The Summer Race — July 11–12, 2026 — is the next Cup Series event on the calendar.
Beyond NASCAR, the speedway hosts Monster Jam, the Georgia State Fair, and the Thursday Thunder short-track racing series throughout the season. Each event generates ground transportation demand at HMP — and each one is a two-minute transfer from terminal to gate.
Your chauffeur is positioned at the terminal before you land. The Sprinter is waiting at the covered staging area, cabin cooled, refreshments ready. After the event, your chauffeur returns you to the aircraft while others sit in traffic on I-75.

For guests who prefer to stay in Atlanta proper, LuxShuttle provides the full round-trip — Buckhead or Downtown to the speedway and back. Your chauffeur waits on-site for the duration of the event. One vehicle, one chauffeur, no coordination required on your part.

Yes. The runway was extended 1,000 feet in 2013 specifically to accommodate jet traffic during Cup Series weekends. At 5,509 feet, Runway 06/24 handles light to midsize jets including Learjet, Beechjet, and Falcon 50/900 series. The runway supports aircraft up to 91,000 pounds single-wheel and 118,000 pounds dual-wheel. The airport is directly across the street from EchoPark Speedway — the shortest possible ground transfer to the track.
No landing fees under normal operations. During NASCAR event weekends, temporary parking fees may apply on the field. Your chauffeur coordinates timing so the Sprinter is waiting at the terminal when you arrive, regardless of event-day traffic patterns around the speedway.
Your chauffeur monitors your aircraft via tail number tracking. They position at the terminal before you land and are waiting at the covered vehicle staging area when you deplane. Delays, holds, and early arrivals are handled automatically — no calls required on your part.
There is no comparison. HMP is directly adjacent to the speedway — a two-minute transfer. From Hartsfield-Jackson ATL, the drive to the track is 25 miles and 30–45 minutes depending on traffic, often longer on race weekends when I-75 southbound is heavily congested. Flying into HMP eliminates the drive entirely.
They are the same airport. The field has carried six names over its history: Bear Creek Airport, Morris Field, Tara Field, Atlanta South Regional Airport, Henry County Airport (FAA identifier 4A7), and finally Atlanta Speedway Airport (FAA: HMP, ICAO: KHMP). Flight plans filed under either identifier will route to the same field.
Atlanta Motor Speedway was renamed EchoPark Speedway in June 2025 as part of a new naming rights agreement. The track, the events, and the airport’s proximity remain unchanged. HMP is still directly adjacent to the speedway — the same two-minute transfer as before.
