Five miles from Buckhead. No terminals. No TSA. No crowds. Your Sprinter positioned planeside at the aircraft — the ultimate cabin-to-cabin transfer at Atlanta's premier private aviation airport.

DeKalb-Peachtree Airport is Georgia's second busiest airport by operations, averaging 170,000 annual flights over the past five years — all of them general aviation. No commercial airlines operate here, which means no terminals, no TSA checkpoints, and no crowds. The airport sits on approximately 745 acres in Chamblee, eight miles northeast of downtown Atlanta, and has served the region since 1941.
For guests flying privately, PDK offers a fundamentally different arrival experience than Hartsfield-Jackson. You are 5–6 miles from Buckhead instead of 17. You step off your aircraft and into your Sprinter without ever entering a building. The entire ground transfer — from touchdown to your hotel lobby — can take less than 20 minutes.
PDK is home to approximately 409 based aircraft and 125 aviation-related tenants, including corporate flight departments for companies such as Southern Company, Cousins Properties, and Rollins. The airport generates an estimated $819M annually for DeKalb County and supports 7,300 direct and indirect jobs — all without using a single dollar of property tax revenue. It operates as a financially self-sufficient enterprise fund of the county.

At select FBOs on the PDK field, your custom Mercedes-Benz Sprinter can be driven directly onto the ramp and positioned at the aircraft stairs. This is the ultimate ground transportation experience: a direct cabin-to-cabin transfer with no building, no lobby, and no weather exposure.
Your chauffeur coordinates with the FBO's ground operations team in advance. When your aircraft arrives and is marshaled to parking, the Sprinter is already there — doors open, cabin cooled, luggage handled as it comes off the aircraft.
This level of ground access is not available at commercial airports. It is one of the defining advantages of flying privately into PDK, and it is exactly the kind of transfer LuxShuttle was built for.

Aircraft types range from single-engine pistons and turboprops to heavy business jets (Gulfstream, Bombardier, Dassault) and helicopters. Helicopter operations include tours, flight training, news/traffic reporting, and MEDEVAC.

PDK opened in 1941 on the former Camp Gordon site — a World War I Army training base. During World War II, it served as a Naval Air Station, training thousands of military pilots for the war effort. The field returned to civilian control in 1959 and has operated as DeKalb County's general aviation airport ever since.
The airport is the third-largest property tax payer in DeKalb County, yet it receives no property tax funding — operating entirely as a self-sufficient enterprise fund. With 125 aviation tenants and approximately 745 acres of aviation infrastructure, PDK has evolved from a wartime training field into the Southeast's premier private aviation gateway.
In late 2025, DeKalb County approved a $45 million Sky Harbour development on the east side of the airport: eight new private hangars designed for based business jets. The project, expected to break ground in 2026 and open by 2027, will generate an estimated $576 million in revenue over 50 years and support 600 local jobs. An environmental study is expected by summer 2026.

Yes. At select FBOs — notably Aero Center Atlanta — we can position the Sprinter planeside on the ramp. Your chauffeur coordinates directly with the FBO ground team so the vehicle is waiting at the aircraft stairs when you deplane. This is a true cabin-to-cabin transfer: aircraft cabin to Sprinter cabin, with no terminal walk in between.
Your chauffeur monitors your aircraft via tail number tracking and FBO coordination. They are positioned at the FBO before you land and move to the ramp the moment your aircraft is cleared for parking. Delays, holds, and early arrivals are handled automatically.
Significantly. PDK is 5–6 miles from Buckhead (10–12 minutes) compared to 17 miles from Hartsfield-Jackson ATL (23+ minutes, often 40–55 in rush hour). For private aviation guests staying in Buckhead, PDK eliminates over half the ground transfer time.
No. PDK is a general aviation airport with no commercial airline service. There is no TSA screening, no security lines, and no terminal crowds. You arrive at the FBO, walk to your aircraft, and depart. On arrival, you walk from your aircraft directly to the Sprinter.
All three FBOs — Signature Flight Support, Atlantic Aviation, and Aero Center Atlanta — offer full-service operations. Signature operates 6 AM to midnight with after-hours arrangements available. Atlantic and Aero Center both operate 24/7. Aero Center is the only independent FBO and has confirmed tarmac vehicle access for our Sprinter. Your chauffeur coordinates with whichever FBO you select.
Atlantic Aviation and Aero Center Atlanta operate 24/7 with fueling available around the clock. Signature Flight Support operates 6 AM to midnight but will accommodate after-hours arrivals with four hours of advance notice. Jet A and 100LL are available at all three FBOs.
Runway 3R/21L is 6,001 feet long and 100 feet wide, with a concrete grooved surface rated for 75,000 lbs dual-wheel. It accommodates most mid-size and super-mid-size business jets. The runway is equipped with an ILS/DME approach and RNAV (GPS) approaches for instrument conditions.
PDK has a voluntary noise curfew from 11 PM to 6 AM. While not legally mandatory — federal law prevents airports from imposing mandatory curfews — pilots are strongly encouraged to observe quiet hours. The airport also recommends NBAA close-in arrival and departure procedures for jet aircraft and prefers the Runway 21L RNAV/GPS approach over the ILS for noise abatement.
Yes. Customs clearance is available at PDK by appointment. Signature Flight Support and Atlantic Aviation both offer customs-on-ramp service. Advance coordination with U.S. Customs and Border Protection is required — your flight operator or FBO can arrange this before departure.
Yes. Graco SlimFit child safety seats are available for $25 per seat. Request them when you reserve and they will be professionally installed before your chauffeur arrives at the FBO.
