On November 18, 2025, the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners voted 6-1 to approve a 50-year ground lease with Sky Harbour Group Corporation (NYSE: SKYH) for the construction of a private hangar campus on the east side of DeKalb-Peachtree Airport.
Sky Harbour is investing $45 million of its own capital. DeKalb County is contributing nothing. The project will generate an estimated $576.6 million in economic activity over the lease term, with $211.3 million flowing to DeKalb County through ground lease payments and tax revenue. The direct ground lease revenue to PDK is projected at $66 million.
The campus will include eight hangars on 12.8 acres, with dedicated ramp space, automobile parking, and the private tenant suites that define the Sky Harbour model. An Air Quality and Noise Study is underway, with results expected by summer 2026. Construction is projected to begin in 2026, with the campus opening approximately one year later.
Sky Harbour Group Corporation is a publicly traded aviation infrastructure company building the first nationwide network of home-basing solutions for business aircraft. The concept is straightforward: a single tenant leases an entire hangar and its adjoining private suite on an exclusive, tenant-only campus.
Each hangar features temperature and humidity control, drive-in vehicle access, indoor and outdoor parking, and the infrastructure required for routine maintenance and inspection. The adjoining suites include private offices, lounges, kitchens, bathrooms, showers, laundry, and crew facilities.
Dedicated line-service staff at each campus handle fueling, towing, and ramp operations exclusively for based tenants. The result is the shortest possible time between the hangar and wheels-up — no shared ramp, no FBO lobby, no waiting for a fuel truck that is serving someone else's aircraft first.

Eight new hangars purpose-built for business jets will attract aircraft owners and operators who currently base elsewhere or lack adequate hangar space. PDK already has 409 based aircraft. Sky Harbour adds capacity for the segment that generates the highest economic value per operation.
The $576 million projected impact flows from a $45 million private investment. DeKalb County contributes no capital. PDK already operates as a self-sufficient enterprise fund without property tax support. Sky Harbour reinforces that model.
County officials expect the new east-side campus to reposition some flight operations away from residential areas on the west side, potentially reducing noise for nearby neighborhoods. The ongoing Air Quality and Noise Study will establish baselines and monitor the impact.
For LuxShuttle guests, the Sky Harbour campus means an additional cluster of based jets on PDK's east side. The transfer to Buckhead remains 10 to 12 minutes. Your chauffeur coordinates directly with the hangar operator, positioning the Sprinter at the hangar door when you are ready.

Sky Harbour Group Corporation (NYSE: SKYH) is building eight private aircraft hangars on 13 acres on the east side of DeKalb-Peachtree Airport. The $45 million project was approved by the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners in November 2025 under a 50-year ground lease. Construction is expected to begin in 2026 with the campus opening in 2027.
Sky Harbour builds single-tenant hangar campuses exclusively for based business aircraft. Each hangar is leased to one tenant and includes an adjoining private suite with office space, lounge, kitchen, bathroom, shower, and crew facilities. Temperature and humidity-controlled hangars protect the aircraft. Drive-in vehicle access means you can pull your car directly into the hangar. Dedicated line-service staff handle fueling, towing, and ramp operations exclusively for campus tenants.
The 50-year lease is projected to generate $576.6 million in total economic impact — $211.3 million of which flows directly to DeKalb County. The project also includes $66 million in direct ground lease revenue to PDK and $1 million per year in community reinvestment funding. DeKalb County is not investing any of its own capital. The entire $45 million is funded by Sky Harbour.
County officials expect the development to reduce noise in some areas by repositioning based aircraft from the west side to the east side of the airport. An Air Quality and Noise Study is underway, with results expected by summer 2026. Preliminary findings estimate the impact of the east-side development will be minimal.
The Sky Harbour campus will add a new cluster of based business jets on PDK's east side. For LuxShuttle guests departing from or arriving at Sky Harbour hangars, the transfer to Buckhead remains 10 to 12 minutes. Your chauffeur coordinates directly with the hangar operator, just as with the existing FBOs, ensuring the Sprinter is positioned when you need it.
No. PDK is Sky Harbour's 20th location. Campuses are open at Houston Sugar Land (SGR), Nashville (BNA), and Miami Opa-Locka (OPF). Additional locations are in development at Dallas Love Field, Fort Worth, Orlando, Washington Dulles, Long Beach, Salt Lake City, Chicago, and others. Sky Harbour is building a nationwide network of home-basing campuses.
