Fifteen minutes to Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Seven miles west of downtown. Three runways. 24/7 control tower. Your Sprinter waiting at the aircraft.

Fulton County Executive Airport — Charlie Brown Field (FTY/KFTY) — is metro Atlanta's closest general aviation field to downtown and one of the most significant corporate aviation hubs in the Southeast. Named after Fulton County Commissioner Charles M. Brown (1902–1995), the airport opened in 1949 and was officially renamed Fulton County Executive Airport in 2019 to reflect its role in business aviation.
The numbers bear this out: 51 percent of the 85 aircraft based here are jets — 44 in total — making FTY one of the most corporate-heavy fields in Georgia. Companies including The Home Depot, Norfolk Southern, and Arthur Blank's family of enterprises use FTY as their aviation base. The airport generates $198.6 million in annual economic impact and supports 1,230 jobs across the region.
Three runways serve the field, and a 24-hour FAA control tower — one of only two at general aviation airports in metro Atlanta — provides around-the-clock operational support. Two established FBOs, Hill Aircraft and Signature Flight Support, handle arrivals from dawn through late evening.

FTY to Mercedes-Benz Stadium — FIFA 2026 World Cup venue
A $40 million runway extension is underway that will bring the primary runway from 5,797 feet to 7,000 feet. Once complete, FTY will accommodate large-cabin, long-range jets capable of direct European operations — a transformative upgrade for Atlanta's west-side corporate aviation community.
Additional infrastructure investments include a new $3 million on-field fire station and hangar expansion on the secondary runway footprint. Sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) is already available at Hill Aircraft, positioning FTY at the leading edge of environmental responsibility in general aviation.
With Mercedes-Benz Stadium confirmed as a FIFA 2026 World Cup venue, FTY anticipates peak traffic of up to 250 operations per day during tournament matches. The airport is 15 minutes from the stadium — the closest general aviation arrival point for the event.

FTY has three runways. The primary runway (8/26) is 5,797 feet, accommodating light through super-midsize jets — Citation series, Learjet 45/60, Hawker 800/900, Challenger 300, and similar. A $40 million runway extension to 7,000 feet is underway, which will enable direct transatlantic operations for the first time. Runway 14/32 is 4,157 feet and Runway 9/27 is 2,801 feet, both serving smaller general aviation aircraft.
Yes. Fulton County Executive Airport operates a 24/7 FAA control tower — one of only two general aviation airports in metro Atlanta with around-the-clock tower operations. This provides an additional layer of operational safety and efficiency for arriving and departing aircraft.
Your chauffeur monitors your aircraft via tail number tracking and coordinates directly with the FBO. They are positioned at the field before you land. Delays, holds, and early arrivals are handled automatically — no action required from you.
FTY is a designated Customs Landing Rights Airport, meaning international arrivals can clear US Customs and Border Protection on the field with advance arrangement. Your chauffeur coordinates timing with the FBO so the Sprinter is ready the moment you are cleared.
Geography. FTY sits 7 miles west of downtown, making it the closest general aviation airport for guests headed to downtown Atlanta, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Midtown, or the west metro corridor. PDK is better positioned for Buckhead and northeast Atlanta. For west-side destinations, FTY eliminates unnecessary crosstown travel.
Mercedes-Benz Stadium is a confirmed FIFA 2026 World Cup venue, and FTY is the closest general aviation airport at 15 minutes away. The field expects up to 250 operations per day during tournament matches. We recommend reserving your Sprinter well in advance for World Cup dates.
