The Drive Nobody Wants to Make Twice in One Day
Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort sits 190 miles north of Atlanta, deep in the Great Smoky Mountains of western North Carolina. The drive is roughly three and a half hours each way — scenic, winding, and increasingly fatiguing after a full day at the tables or the spa. The return trip after dark, through mountain roads with no cell service and drowsy passengers, is where the calculation changes.
A group of four to eight friends splitting a private Sprinter pays approximately $22 to $44 per person each way. That is comparable to the fuel, tolls, and wear on any one person’s vehicle — except nobody drives, nobody navigates, and nobody is the designated sober one on the way home at midnight.
What the Sprinter Offers for a Casino Day Trip
- Cream quilted leather captain’s chairs for up to 8 guests
- 32-inch 4K Smart TV — stream the game, watch highlights, or set the mood for the drive up
- Full-size refrigerator stocked before departure
- 5G Wi-Fi for the entire drive (coverage permitting through the mountains)
- USB-C charging at every seat
- A chauffeur who handles the mountain roads while your group relaxes
The Route
Atlanta to Cherokee follows I-575 North to GA-515, merging onto US-76 through Blue Ridge and into North Carolina. The final stretch through the Nantahala National Forest is beautiful but demanding — tight curves, elevation changes, and limited passing opportunities. A chauffeur who has driven this corridor handles it with familiarity. A guest who has been at the blackjack table since noon handles it with risk.
How It Works
Reserve your Sprinter for the day. Your chauffeur picks up your group at a single address or multiple homes across metro Atlanta, drives to Cherokee, stages nearby during your visit, and returns the group home at the end of the evening. One booking, one vehicle, one fare — no coordinating three cars, no arguing about who drives back.
How far in advance should we book?
Weekend casino trips are popular. Reserve at least 72 hours ahead, especially for Friday or Saturday departures. The vehicle is dedicated to your group for the entire day.
Can we bring drinks for the drive?
You are welcome to bring beverages aboard. The full-size refrigerator keeps everything chilled. Glassware is available on request.
What if we want to stay overnight?
The chauffeur can drive your group to Cherokee, return to Atlanta, and come back the following day for pickup. Multi-day pricing is available — ask when you reserve.
The mountains are beautiful. The casino is fun. The drive home at midnight is neither. Reserve your Sprinter and let someone else handle the road.
